HISTORY OF THE BAND

The legacy of Didley Squat has been going on for years...They became a band on April 24th 1999, at a rock concert. They started out as a no name 4 piece band with Jimmy Crawford on bass, Kevin McKone on lead guitar, Chuckie Dawson on vocals and rhythem guitar, and David Grady on drums. When they were discussing the name of the band, they had to come up with something unique and creative that had something to do with their hometown of Piedmont, WV. So they came up with Garageband(which comes from where they practiced) and 26750(which was Piedmont's zip code)="Garageband 26750". They played a few benifits/talent shows/local get togethers in the keyser/tri towns area to get the publicity they needed.

After parting ways with guitarist McKone in mid 2002, the three remaining members set out as a three piece with original members Dawson, Grady, and Crawford. They shifted their horizon in shows to bigger, better, more popular venues opening up for bigger bands.

After spending the summer playing shows as Garageband 26750, the group changed the name to "Didley Squat" and picked up guitarist Aaron Courtney. The level of intensity that Aaron added to the band was a big help and made them rise to the shadow of what they are today. In late spring 2003 the band recorded the "Middle to the Sky" demo in Baltimore, MD. At the end of the summer Didley Squat went back to their roots as a three piece and parted ways with Aaron Courtney. After Aaron left the band, Didley Squat went on a short break and members Crawford, Grady, and Courtney started a side project titled "The Agent C". After a few months with The Agent C, the three contacted singer Chuckie Dawson and reunited Didley Squat. Since then, DS is back and still continues to WOW audiences on the east coast!!!!!
